Thirty-nine interior and landscape designers have transformed this elegant home situated on three acres of beautifully landscaped property into the 2020 Lake Forest Showhouse & Gardens.
 
Designed in 1906 by Frost and Granger, the property includes a large house and a smaller adjoining house.

In 1928, the William A. P. Pullmans purchased the property and engaged architect Stanley Anderson to make extensive changes.

The 23-room, 11,000 square foot house has a timeless elegance including a large living room, sun room and parlor, and a fireplace warmed family room.  The master suite has two dressing rooms, a bath, a sitting room, and the bedroom, which has a fireplace and a balcony overlooking magnificent gardens. 

The landscape was planned by Annette Hoyt Flanders of New York City.    Born into a prominent Milwaukee family, she had access to many important gardens which may have influenced her philosophy and design principle.  She was commissioned to design the grounds of the Pullman Estate in 1937 during what was known as "THE COUNTRY PLACE ERA."
 
A knowledgeable gardener in his own right, Mr. Pullman was very involved in the planning and execution of the gardens.  Mr. Pullman served as president of the Chicago Horticultural Society, which founded the Chicago Botanic Gardens.

Paloma believes that the most beautiful interiors are also the most personal. Her first book, Dream Design Live, was published by Abrams in September 2018. And she recently launched Paloma & Co, a highly curated retail concept for the home.
